Lake Waconia Regional Park is in its initial land acquisition stage for this future 130-acre park. Situated on the southern shore of Lake Waconia, with views to the lake and Coney Island, existing facilities include a reservable group picnic shelter, play equipment, restrooms, small swimming beach, picnic tables, volleyball court and grills. Boat access is provided outside the park at the Minnesota DNR boat access located on the northeast side of the lake and at private marinas located in the City of Waconia. Source: Carver County Parks

Summer is winding down, but there are still plenty of things to do at Lake Minnewashta Regional Park just west of Chanhassen:
Lake Minnewashta Regional Park is a developing park on the shores of Lake Minnewashta. Facilities completed to date include a swimming beach, bathhouse, reservable picnic shelters, volleyball courts, creative playground, and concession stand.
Two boat accesses within the park accommodate 35 vehicles with boat trailers. Parking for vehicles with boat trailers is limited to 35. If boat trailer parking is full, no additional watercraft launching is allowed until a parking site has become available. Source: Carver County Parks

If you haven’t been to Baylor Regional Park in Norwood Young America, you should go. According to the County Parks web site:
Baylor Regional Park is situated in western Carver County on Eagle Lake. The park offers 50 camping sites. Thirty-five sites have water and electrical hookups and 15 sites are primitive. Other facilities include: picnic areas, showers, swimming beach, beach house, reservable picnic shelters, ball field, tennis courts, sand volleyball court, group camping area and horseshoe pits.
Trails:
Walk the nearly ¼ mile long boardwalk through the cattail marsh or tour the 3-4 miles of walking trails through a maple basswood forest and prairie. Watch for wildlife or enjoy a scenic vista overlooking Eagle Lake. Source: Carver County Parks

Camping season comes to an end this weekend, check out the 3rd Annual Baylor Chili Cook-off planned for campers this weekend.
Cook up your best pot of Chili and enter into the contest. Judging is at Noon on Saturday with a campground potluck to follow. You could be the next Chili Champion.

Groups, families and individuals are invited to take part in Carver County Parks Buckthorn Roundup. Spend a few hours removing buckthorn, an invasive plant, from the wooded areas within Lake Minnewashta Regional Park.
Volunteers are encouraged to wear work clothes, supportive footwear and work gloves.
Volunteers are asked to gather at the Nature Lot / Trail Head parking Lot at Lake Minnewashta Regional Park between 9:45 - 10:00 a.m.
Lunch will be provided at noon for all volunteers.
